As Winter Approaches, Ireland Fires Up Her Light 🔥

Samhain Celebrations on the Emerald Isle 🇮🇪

When the darkness arrives on the Emerald Isle, we don’t bow our heads and hide, we rise up and meet it with our light 🇮🇪✨🌙🫶🔥🇮🇪

An absolutely fitting tribute to our ancestors & our cultural history beautifully re-enacted tonight at the fabulous Púca Festival in a local town of Trim, County Meath 🔥🙏🔥 I live about twenty minutes from Trim & I feel very lucky to have witnessed this magic tonight. It really reminded me of what our ancestors not only went through but also what they valued in times when things were very tough.

I feel so grateful to have witnessed such a wonderful evening of historical tradition & magic 🔥

This year I’ve tried to keep my faith in the good topped up by also attending one of the most beautiful ‘All Saints’ masses yesterday morning in one of my favourite churches in the Camilians in county Westmeath. It was very fortunately the first Friday mass also which was a specially dedicated mass for the healing of the sick. We all received special oils and blessing on the top of our heads & on our hands. This was a monthly mass than gran never missed when she was alive so I felt very very grateful to be sitting in her seat. I felt she was so close to me at this mass as every word the priest said, I knew she could hear too. The same priests who said mass for her are still saying mass today so that really made it oh so special. And my mam also attended so we both felt close to gran, close to god, close to the good & there is nothing as special as a shared experience with the people you love 💖

I’m writing this letter to you from my bed as I’m about to close my eyes. I’ve my nephews & nieces over for a sleepover - a little surprise treat for them, my niece lauren is in the bed beside me wearing my scraggy cosy t shirt & my old football shorts as jammies as it was such a surprise sleepover I literally surprised them as we collected a take away on the way home from Trim. Surprise!!! Your aunty Dee Dee wants to make memories with ye & I want ye to remember us having fun together x

See life is for planning sometimes but it most definitely is for going with the flow all of the time 💖
