'Free Festive Fun' on Wed. 29th November! Tonight was such a success- This same event will now run on Wednesday 6th of December as well as the 13th!
We will now run this event on Wednesday 6th of December as well as tonight (nov 29th) was such a success!! See you on the 6th!
Hey there Substack family,
Hope this little random message finds you well. I just want to remind you of some upcoming festive fun I’m organising. I’d love for you to be involved if this was something you might enjoy!
Just to give you a little background to my thinking ;)
I have set no fee for these two events I’m running on Wednesday 29th November & Wednesday 13th December because instead of charging you a fee, I am going to donate money to a homeless charity that I am very passionate about here in Ireland. A number of years ago I volunteered and helped out at the night time soup kitchen and food bank in Dublin. My eyes were opened and my heart broke to see so many lovely people without the very basic need of food. Ever since that time - I have tried my best to give what I can to a number of charities that support the homeless here in Ireland. In running these events & thinking of those less fortunate, I will donate to these charities in the hope that it might help someone less fortunate than me.
The other reason I am running these two events is that I am a big believer in the gift of connection. The tradition of writing and sending Christmas cards in modern day society is indeed on the way out but this is my effort to try and re-ignite that tradition in even a small way.
To send a Christmas card means three things:
1. You thought about someone else & as you lift your hand and pen those words of love and kindness that flow from your heart to the paper - you are sending good energy to someone else.
2. You spent money on a stamp
And….
3. As you put that card in the post box, you are making the effort to really connect with another human for no other reason but to bring joy to their hearts….
No matter where we are in the world, the process of writing a Christmas card is the same over and over, bringing the magical feeling of making someone else feel loved and thought of at Christmas. I will be encouraging everyone in our session to send one card to someone that lives on their own or someone who was recently bereaved as part of a random act of kindness in an effort to bring the extra special magic of Christmas to someone who might feel forgotten at this time.
This is my effort to try bring us closer together at Christmas even if we live million of miles apart. Christmas is the reminder that it comes just once a year and just like our impact in this world, a very small move, can have a huge positive effect if done from the heart.
I’d love if you might join our first session, it runs on Wednesday 29th November from 7.30-8.30pm (Irish time) and it’s free…..The link to this event is: https://calendly.com/workwithlou/write-your-christmas-cards-with-lou
It will be a very simple set up. Some christmas music will play and then we write ;) (and smile) and make magic happen together in the one room!
Bring your cards, your hot chocolate or your cuppa and let’s write our cards together & not alone this Christmas.
Letting the power of love, effort, friendship and connection do its thing!
Love and light,
Lou x
The option to buy me a cuppa is in the mix too & I will donate some of this money to the homeless charity also :) https://www.buymeacoffee.com/0UV9NfHal1
