Colleen Rooney - A Story You Need To See With Your Own Eyes
I won’t stay long but I just had to write to you to ask had you watched the new Colleen Rooney documentary - The Real Wagatha Story?
It’s on Disney Plus and as much as I was taken by the Beckham Documentary which I will come back to before I finish this, Coleen’s really hit a punch. I am so impressed with her now - I didn’t know too much about Coleen only she was married to Waybe and a few other bits….But now I feel I know her much better….and I am just soooo impressed and just want to meet her to tell her how proud of her I feel. Wow. What a woman. I won’t spoil this documentary for anyone but holy smokes, it’s absolutely brilliant. It exposes how humans can simply be so bitter, so cruel and plain right bullies in all areas of our lives and the truth about it is, that no matter how much money you have, how big or small your house is, we are all just humans and at the end of the day, those you would expect better of, often let you down. After all we have learned and how progressed we are in 2023 (supposedly ) people just simply continue to hurt others for no other reason but spite and jealousy. It’s a terrible world on that end really.
Yes someone might see this aspect of the negative side of social media being presented in this doc- that’s the easiest case to make nowadays but really the one serious aspect that should be identified straight away is that behind every word whether written on social media, in a message, in person or behind someones back, those words are coming from a human who chooses to act and behave that way! It’s not social media we need to look at but OURSELVES! It’s not social media we need to blame, it’s us - the humans who choose to act and behave in a way to hurt someone else! The worse part of this is that more often than not, it’s adults!
If you haven’t watch Coleen’s documentary I really recommend it. It’s on Disney Plus and it’s worth paying the subscription if you don’t have it. It’s a three part doc but you will want to watch it all in one sitting because it will hold your attention……
Coleen, I tip my hat to you, for your consistent dedication to getting to the truth of your case and exposing the person who was the cause of your pain and hurt. And also for being brave enough to follow through and being clear that you didn’t want anyone else going through the pain you did. We live in a world where the good people are left in fear and the bad people (a simple view but I can’t think of a better word) are left in charge and let get away with doing bad things to good people. Whether bullying or intimating someone from a distance or all these terrible things that we hear in our news headlines everyday, whatever the badness, it’s just such a shame that bad seem to be ruling the roost these days…..That’s why I think this documentary is very much of its time but not only that, it is needed in so many ways! We need to see a real life story where good wins out in a real way and also calls out the bad! Okeydokey that’s my tuppence for what its worth but I would never recommend something if I didn’t feel really passionate about it - as you know at this stage haha :)
***A final thought or was it just me or did you too have the following overriding inner monologue all the way through the doc -“Fair play to this woman for being brave and calling out the bully!”
BECKHAM
As reference at the top of this piece I can’t not mention ‘Beckham’ too.
I absolutely loved this documentary too - if you haven’t watched that one, it’s on Netflix and it’s absolutely superb too. And by the way, no interest whatsoever needed on the soccer end. Obviously soccer is referred to in it but my god would it open your eyes to again, how badly humans treat each other and again, proving that we should never be jealous of people who we think have it all. This documentary proves like Coleen’s, that no matter who you are, the heavy and dark times really happen to everyone. I love David and Victoria even more after watching this doc and love all the nostalgia ends too re Man United and his haircuts haha :) and of course the legends that were the Spice Girls and that time! Oh the good memories!
Okeydokey that’s it from me for now ;) …….oh….And on one final fashion note…Coleen really does wear that pink so well….not just on the cover but also in the doc….Make your own mind up on that end, but I think you might agree? Think she will give Barbie a run for her money this year! #hotpinkishappeningin2023
Love to hear what you think if you have watched either of the documentaries…..and if you do end up watching them, I’d love for you to return and share your thoughts….I enjoyed them so much, particularly the unexpected nature in which Coleen’s ended up going, I would actually want to watch it again to take in all the small details…..Please leave any thoughts or opinions in the comments below….oh and of course if you aren’t already, I’d love for you to subscribe to my substack home here - I’d be really really grateful…..so then we can keep in touch!
For anyone who still needs convincing to throw your eyes on this piece of valuable tv - here’s the trailer:
