My ‘Finding The Light’ series was meant to be a November only series but on the success of it, I’ve extended it into December.
Today my special guest is another amazing inspiring human. Celine is my age (40’s) and last year we had planned to do a live show in the theatre she manages here in Ireland. Celine hadn’t been feeling well and even though she had attended lots of doctors, nobody was listening. As much as I didn’t want to believe it, my gut told me something was wrong for Celine and the more Celine worried, the more Celine knew the medical teams were missing something. After battling and pushing her case forward, she eventually got the result she knew was true if not the result any of us want to ever hear….She had a tumour - a 17cm tumour inside her beautiful body. The reminder for us all to stick to our gut when we know something is wrong.
Celine has been going through all sorts of medical treatments since that diagnosis last February….Chemo has been the big one and anyone who is reading this, that has been part or witnessed to a cancer story, we all know what this means. My beautiful friend has been through hell and back and sadly is still in hell. The tumour is now down to 9cm’s and Celine is still fighting as she wins her war with cancer. I am so proud to know her! I loved her before this moment and I love her more now. Myself and Celine met when we both worked in the media and she was an amazing supporter to all the bands I managed in the following years. From that moment of meeting, we became the best of friends and have always supported each other in anyway we can….She is a wonderful advocate for so many things I love in this world along with the love she gives to her beautiful daughter Elanor.
For as long as I know Celine, it’s always been Celine and Elanor against the world and this is still very much the case. Since her diagnosis, Celine’s friends 🥰 and there are so many of them, have come together in a hundred ways to fundraise for her and it’s been magical watching the innate generous spirit of the Irish people work its magic to remind Celine of how loved she is.
Tonight/today I will talk to this amazing human that is not only battling cancer but also the mental war that comes with it. I am honoured that she is my guest as she is mid treatment. Something very magical has been happening every Monday in this group so I thank all who have been attending and supporting this new virtual space of hope, healing and love I’ve created. We all need it. We need to know we are not alone battling our darkness and equally we need to know that so many come through and then their light is beyond beautiful and together we share that light when we come together. If you are need of a reason to believe in the good in the world, this is the group for you!
