What a lovely piece to read and listen to as I sit having a cuppa tea waiting for my kiddies I mind to arrive ๐Louise I think you need to sit down with a cuppa and listen to it for yourself... Sometimes you just need to remember to take time for you ๐ฅฐ
Starting my 2 week holiday today so no little people for 2 weeks, time to relax ๐ช
As you know, I love this writing of yours. Both Reading & Listening to it, this morning. I focused on a part of this where you asked โwhat is my purpose in life?โ I have asked this question so many times through my life and I finally did come upon an answer. And that was to give my strength to others. But your answer, I think Iโm going to add to mine because itโs true. We supply our love to our friends and we receive the love of our friends back to us. And yes you are right, it is important not to close the door on this sort of thing. Sometimes I think I do that and I donโt mean to. But if Iโm truthful, I know I do that. Iโm going to have to stop doing that. The way my house is set up, itโs kind of an embarrassment because I have nine dogs and two cats, thereโs always barking when someone walks in, and the smell of a zoo here in the house.
Eithne M. McGarrity is right about you. You are everything she said you are. I feel absolutely blessed that I was part of this group while granny was alive. I always look forward to your chats and your writings. But with her in the picture, I looked forward to witnessing the amazement of her being alive till close to 108. Not too many people can claim that right!! I loved that I was able to watch it! But for you, you lived It!! Blessed!!
And then, as we touched on before, yes, there comes a time in your life where you start to lose all your friends and the people around you. I remember feeling sad when that happened to my parents. But granny, she lived about 30 years longer than my parentsโฆโฆall those people that left the earth! Just their memories left behind. ๐ฅน
And my husband, he died in 2007. So, you are right. Here we are, left holding the bag of life. What do we do now? You have much that was taught you, as do I. We shall continue to love, continue to provide strength, and keep looking up! And โIโ will stop closing ๐ช doors!! โค๏ธ๐ฅฐ๐
As always beautiful words We lost a lot of our spontaneity with Covid We developed fear of people, places and we hid behind masks I find now people don't interact like they did which is sad A friendly natter even with a stranger can lift you
For myself all my family live outside my county so do a lot of friends When your working especially shifts work you are not off when others are out so your circle can be small I try when in shops to be pleasant I still wear my mask I'm going to be honest I'm scared of covid I have enough medical issues but I can still say Hello Thanks or do the Irish speciality ..talk about the weather
Keep up the chats Lou behind the phones and I pads you never know who's lonely and needs a lift Hugs ๐คMargaret aka Granny Mags
HOLDING UP A MIRROR TO YOU: "You are courageous. You are brave. You are kind. You are thoughtful. You are wonderful. You are a magic human being. You are a fabulous friend to so many. Your smile lights up the room for all who love you."
