Peace is accessible in so many places in Ireland. It’s why I love the island on which I was so lucky to be born. Peace & Hope go hand in hand for me. Where you find one, you find the other. When the sunshines and I close my mind to the world and all its noise, Ireland has endless doorways of hope & stepping towards & through is the best way to heal. The best way to find the light of this world.
In times of trouble, in times of darkness, in times when you are unsure of your footing, the motto that helps me most is to just keep stepping forward. One step at a time. One day at a time. One hour at a time. I know sometimes it can be very hard to keep going but sometimes keeping going is actually slowing down, not speeding up. We control the pace which in turn leads to peace. When you are in a tricky situation, it takes all sorts of thinking to keep you believing that this will pass, but the main source of strength is built by pushing through. By holding on. By not giving up. By believing that good will prevail in the end.
By you holding on, the gift of Hope will present itself and in that moment, everything feels doable once again. This world is tough, the people have become hard, but if we are to keep its true beauty alive, our true beauty, we must stay soft even if everything is going against the grain. Even if you are being handed a hundred reasons to become dark.
So many people are feeling angry nowadays- it’s like the fastest infection of 2025 that nobody is talking about but we must not become angry. I know it feels as if there is no other emotion to feel but there is. If anything we need to feed softness to the world. Feed the world love. Think rationally& emotionally but keeping in the balance of both. Think from our heart but not allowing our heart to take over our head. Think from our heart but not allowing the heart take control of our head. We need balance right now. We need the middle way. We need to think long term. We need to help where we can help and not lose sight of those who were suffering before this moment & will be long after. We need to act in a loving helpful way to those closest to us. Small actions of love lead to longterm feelings of hope. Anger solves nothing. Anger wins the minute it presents itself. Peace arrives in the quiet.
It is in these moments of the world & my life feeling turbulent, that I turn to nature to remind me, (and maybe you reading this 😍) that peace is a way of living. It is my way of living. I am not angered by nature. I am not angry at the world. I am not angry at anyone. I am not an angry person in any part of my being so it is important that while many are angry right now, I must work at keeping my peace by being aware it is my duty to stay true to me. Yes I am disappointed by many but not angry. I carry love, hope and light in my heart & I never want to lose that because so many people right now do not value these qualities and have simply forgotten that peace is a choice, love is a choice, kindness and compassion are a choice. Peace lives within me because I choose peace. I choose love. I choose the quiet over the noise. I think before I talk. I consider my actions before I make them. I sit with myself for endless hours before I write a word. Peace lies in taking your time and making sure what I give to the world lies within me. And therefore I try my best to give my best and I try my best to lead with peace.
Peace is attainable in every moment. We are not responsible for anyone but ourselves. Our own actions. Our own contributions are what matter. And by being kind, soft and gentle and very much quiet while speaking from considered thought, we can become stable leaders of peace just like the land, the animals, the sky do by simply being themselves.
Keep looking for peace. It’s all around us. But most importantly it is found within.
