Such powerful, beautiful reminders of how I can share with more intention, and how I can be a better listener. Thank you so much xx

Thanks so much Lauren for always reading my letters. It means so much to me and I appreciate your words so much. You are a wonderful listener, a natural active listener, Carl Rogers would be a big fan of yours, nearly as big a fan as me ;) xx

Brilliant, wise words from another of life’s great thinkers and writers! Thank you, Lou…and I know from having spent precious time with you here in FERMANAGH ☘️ that you indeed LIVE the message in your letter today. You have that great gift of being a LISTENER!

Well done…burning the midnight oil has been worth it for us listeners/readers…and I hope it has been for you too.

With love and thanks, Eileen 💕🙏

I love the photo of you and...Denise? Claire? (Can’t recall your traveling friend.)

And this is such wisdom. This skill is one we all desperately need to learn and as desperately need to offer to others. It’s the key to world peace, isn’t it? I’m so glad to have met you, a person who offers deep, fully present listening. And a person I can offer and practices deep listening with.

Thank you so much Lou, you’re so wise and caring. I choose the wrong people in the past. I would love someone to actively listen. I am a non judgemental caring person and would willingly be an active listener for another. 🥰

So many points I could comment on here! The wheel of life--aka, up times and down times--really jumped out. But moreover, the message of having your circle really hit for me. I've been taking inventory lately of my dynamics and taking a harder look at the ones I have to admit just aren't working for me like I hoped. But, as you said and I 100% agree, that's a ME issue. It's not malice or ill intent on their behalf.

Still the question that's played in my mind--(how) do you tell a friend "I'm not getting what I need here"?

Thank you, Louise.

I must admit, I think I can be a better listener at times. Problem-solver by heart, I will often offer advice and / or think of ways to solve the crisis in question when, in fact, the person across from me might just need me to listen quietly, without chipping in. It is something I am trying to work on, especially now that I am also dedicating time to my writing. Writing and listening, I feel, are rather interlinked.
