Very thoughtful words Louise..Forgiveness is difficult especially in the context you describe, when the other person hasn't the awareness to see how they have acted or hurt another and therefore an apology will not be forthcoming. There are two perceptions at play and sometimes when we try and understand the other person and where they are coming from or the weakness which made the other person act as they did and why they don't see what we see it can aid in that forgiveness or better still allow us not to feel the hurt or be offended as much. We don't really know what another's path or journey is about or what has shaped their thinking and perception..we all have different standards too we are complex beings, evolving constantly through enlightenment and consciousness..its not an easy one but we remain a prisoner of the hurt if we cannot forgive..people definitely test us Louise..
